Autriche

After working as a graphic artist for various clients and designing for her own fashion label, Yvonne Oswald started her editorial photographic career with the French magazine Côté Est. Since then her work has been published in The World of Interiors, AD, Christie's Magazine, Elle décor, ALPS, Klassisch Wohnen, Mein schönes Landhaus and other international magazines.

Since 2009 she has also published five successful books with the Viennese publishing house Braumüller/Lesethek. Four of them deal with the Austrian lake district known as the "Salzkammergut", its landscape, buildings, people, music and festivities.

"Semmering, Reichenau and Rax – a Literary Roundtrip" follows the footsteps of famous writers like Arthur Schnitzler, Stefan Zweig, Franz Werfel and others at the area south of Vienna that was fashionable at the fin de siècle. Critics highly praised the book, which is now in its 2nd edition. She has also collaborated on a book titled "Traces of Charity" about the genocide in Srebrenica/Bosnia-Herzegovina. It was published in 2012.

When the Vienna-based photographer is not working for architects, hotels, restaurants and other clients, she devotes herself to her own photographic art projects – some long term like "Out of Season" dealing with tourist destinations in the off season, "Nothing Remains" is a project on fading of memory and "Ever Moving" is about water.

Yvonne Oswald's photos have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions and feature in collections all over Europe. She is currently preparing an art book under the title "The Südbahnhotel – Magic Mountain of the Viennese" and another book about the Austrian lake region. She also has three exhibitions planned for 2014 and 2015.

When not working she spends time with her two children. She loves to travel, go on extensive ski tours or retreat to a remote cabin in the high mountains, far from telephones and computers.
